Bid Opportunities and Capital Projects

Pursuant to the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA), this is a list of upcoming projects requiring a 30-day notice period prior to bid opening. All of the following projects are located in or around the City of Livermore and will be let out to bid by the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD). The funding for these projects primarily comes from restricted local, state and federal sources. For additional funding and/or project information, please contact the project manager listed.

LARPD #332  May Nissen Swim Center Roof Replacement -  This project replaces the existing roof (c. 1964) of the Swim Center with a new roof and involves the removal and disposal of the existing roof and installation of a new manufactured truss roof.  The work also includes electrical and drain connections, and painting (interior and exterior).  Engineer’s estimate is $290,000.  Bid documents will be available November 3, 2014.  A pre-bid walk/inspection is scheduled for November 17, 2014.  Bid opening date is December 10, 2014.  More info:  Chiye Azuma, email


LARPD #213  Wattenburger Park Improvements -  As part of its obligation associated with building the Coventry subdivision, Ponderosa Homes will be installing buffer landscaping along the northern boundary of the park along with a new perimeter walkway connecting Honeysuckle Road to Rhododendron Drive.  Construction will begin once the park improvement plans have been finalized and approved.

     LARPD #328 District Parks, Recreation & Trails Master Plan Update



LARPD #603 Sycamore Grove Arroyo Del Valle Regional Trail Repave - This project consists of repaving the 2.5-mile segment of the Arroyo Del Valle Regional Trail running through Sycamore Grove Park. The typical trail section consists of an 8-foot-wide asphalt path with 2-foot-wide compacted gravel clear zones on both sides. A compensation adjustment for price fluctuations of asphalt is included in the specifications.  This project has been placed on hold pending identification of funding sources.
