Lap Swim with Us

We are excited to announce our new Lap Swim program to our community. Although, this is not the traditional Lap Swim program you are used to, the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is committed to your health and fitness. To ensure the health and safety of our community, we are required to follow the Alameda County's Health Order, and lap swimmers will be required to follow our program regulations while participating within our program. We worked very closely with the County and integrated these requirements into this program in order for the County to approve this activity. Any deviation from these approved protocols could end the Lap Swim program.

Our Lap Swim program will be held on a monthly basis, meeting on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday for 50 minutes in multiple hourly sessions. Swimmers will be required to preregister for this program as there are only 13 spaces per time slot. Lane assignments are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Only 13 people will be allowed into the facility at a time to ensure physical and social distancing; non registered swimmers will not be allowed into the facility. Each time slot has a minimum enrollment; if a time slot does not meet our minimum enrollment, that time will be cancelled and swimmers will be moved to another available time. Refunds and/or credits will not be issued for cancelled time either initiated by the District or the swimmer. Swimmers will have 50 minutes to complete their workout for the day; once the 50 minutes has concluded, swimmers will be asked to vacate the water and exit the facility. Swimmers who fail to exit the facility within a timely manner may have their privileges revoked and a refund will not be issued. Swimmers who arrive to their swim time late, will have the remainder of their 50 minutes to complete their swim. The District will not issue a refund or makeup sessions for missed time or days. Due to these unprecedented times and the added health and safety requirements per the County's Health Order, the Lap Swim Punch Passes will not be valid for this program.

Swimmers are encouraged to arrive to the facility a few minutes prior to their designated swim time to complete our COVID-19 Health Screening prior to entering the facility. Swimmers who have a fever, and/or signs and symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have been ordered to quarantine or isolate will not be permitted to enter the facility. Swimmers will be required to follow all physical and social distancing requirements, engage in proper hand hygiene, and will be required to wear a facial covering at all times, unless while swimming. Swimmers will be required to show up and leave the facility in their swim attire; the locker rooms will remain closed during this program. Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own bottle of water as the public water fountain is closed. Swimmers will be encouraged to bring their own lap swim equipment as District equipment will be unavailable.

The Lap Swim program will be held at the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center for participants 14 years and older. To ensure we are meeting the most up to date Health Order, monthly Lap Swim sessions will be available for registration on a month to month basis. Space is limited, please register early. March online program registration will begin on Monday, February 16th at 8:00 a.m.

We are ecstatic that the County gave us permission to reopen our facility for our Lap Swim program; we cannot wait to see our faithful lap swimmers back in our facility swimming and splashing around. For questions or comments about our program, please contact our District Office Monday through Friday at 925-373-5700. Please visit our COVID-19 News and Information website for the most current Alameda County's Health Order and updates.
