There are many LARPD picnic areas for the community to enjoy. Reservations are available and encouraged for those that want to secure a specific picnic site and date. Please read below for more information on rentals and for clarification on when a reservation (permit) is required.

*In the event of inclement weather, LARPD staff will work with you to find an alternate date for your event. Refunds will not be offered due to inclement weather, including poor air quality.

Insurance
Liability insurance is required for any reservation where alcohol will be present and/or for groups of 40 or more. The liability insurance fee is $200. This fee is determined and charged based on market rate and is subject to change. Insurance policies must be purchased through LARPD. Personal policies are not allowed.
Deposits
All reservations require a $100 security deposit. After a reservation, after all rules and protocols are followed, and the picnic area is left clean and undamaged, the security deposit will be refunded. Security deposits will be refunded back to the original form of payment. Refunds will be initiated within two weeks of the completion of your rental.

features a new, large barbecue pit; five (5) picnic tables; a portable restroom onsite March-October; a playground area; a large grass area. The reservable picnic area is the collection of the five green picnic tables, the barbeque and immediate adjacent areas.
Independence Park offers a great picnic area within the park that we refer to as Lower Independence. The entrance to the park is off of Holmes Street, and the reservable picnic area is at the bottom of the hill near the parking lot. This park features a tot lot area and permanent park restrooms at the top of the hill. Maximum capacity for this location is 50 people.
This neighborhood park includes a tot lot, a barbecue pit, covered picnic tables, and a portable restroom. Maximum capacity for this reservable picnic location is 30 people.
May Nissen Park is perfect for any outdoor picnic function. Area 1 is located near the City of Livermore's Public Library closes to the parking lot and features two (2) covered barbecue pits, twelve (12) concrete tables, and permanent park restrooms. Maximum capacity for this reservable picnic location is 200 people.
May Nissen Park is perfect for any outdoor picnic function. Area 2 is located next to the tennis courts and features four (4) small barbecue pits, six (6) concrete tables, and permanent park restrooms. Maximum capacity for this reservable picnic location is 100 people.
