Ready to have some fun at the Calaveras Co. Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee?
Located in the beautiful rolling foothills of the Mother Lode, just outside the quaint Gold Rush town of Angels Camp, this iconic event was made famous by storyteller, Mark Twain and has been happening annually since the 1930s.
The world’s jumping frog record was set in 1986 by Rosie the Ribiter, whose record of 21 feet, 5 ¾ inches remains unbeaten to this day … with a current cash prize of $5000 to beat it! Upon arrival in our comfy mini-motorcoach, you can grab an entry form and rent a frog to jump in the ongoing daily competition! Or you can choose to watch and cheer from the grandstands while enjoying fried catfish, corn dogs, or every kind of “fair food” imaginable. At noon, the Buckaroo Youth Rodeo events will keep you entertained with local talented “cow-kids” competing at barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, and ranch penning. Then, cruise on over through the livestock barns, plus live music, explore exhibits or the Wine Pavilion, and shop the vendors.
