We strive to ensure a physically and emotionally comfortable environment, encourage fun and excitement, and provide a safe place where all are welcome to socialize and be with their peers.

3D Greeting Cards

Create gorgeous layered greeting cards. Fun class for beginners and experienced paper crafters, alike. You will receive supplies to create 5 all-occasion cards featuring spring themes. Materials mostly imported from Europe. Bring a pair of scissors and tweezers. Supply fee: $20 cash only.

Mystery Movie at the Vine

We had a blast last month at the Vine Cinema with friends and we're going to make this a regular thing! Line Dancing with Sue Kraft

Come join this beginning Line Dancing class where you can unwind, meet new friends, and exercise. You'll learn the basic steps for each line dance. Light and Easy Aerobics

Chair Strength Balance and Flexibility (Outdoor)

Join us to maintain and build new muscle mass, practice balance, strengthen your core and strengthen neuromuscular patterns. We will also work on flexibility and range of motion. Walking with Purpose

Enjoy socializing as you walk? Designed for all levels for walkers. Walk at your own comfortable pace. Groups leaves from the RLCC Courtyard to walk the perimeter of Robert Livermore Community Park. Focus is on time not distance. The goal is to walk a minimum of 15 minutes at your own pace at 9:30 am. Ongoing registration.

Yoga Stretch at Sycamore Grove Park

Move outdoors to connect with your breath, body, and mind and to access your inner nature. Financial Assistance for 50+ Recreation Programs: If you want to participate in more LARPD Senior programs and activities but need financial assistance, think about our Community Support Program through the LARPD Foundation. Open to Livermore residents 50 and over. Applications may be obtained at the front counter or mailed to you. Call 925-373-5700 for more information.

Senior Meals are back indoors! The Open Heart Kitchen "Good Thyme Cafe" lunch program held at the Robert Livermore Community Center is offering sit-down and to-go meal service at the Robert Livermore Community Center. Open Heart Kitchen is planning a full return to sit-down service in January 2023. The Wiesner Memorial Fund is a special fund for seniors, 60 and older, who need financial assistance in the event of an emergency. For additional information call 925-373-5760.

FREE Legal Assistance for Seniors 60+:

50+ Support Groups

FREE Dementia Caregiver Support Group: Alzheimer's Association, Asbury United Methodist Church 4743 East Avenue, Livermore: The Alzheimer's Associations' support group is open for families and caregivers of person's suffering from Alzheimer's or a related disorder. It provides a safe environment for individuals to express feelings, give and receive support, learn about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and discover effective ways to cope with and care for Alzheimer's patients. Group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. For detailed information, contact Heather at 800-272-3900 or by email at heather.gray@alz.org.

FREE Living OUT in Livermore: Join this safe and confidential drop-in peer support group for LGBTQ persons 50+. Share thoughts, feelings, resources and information while providing support for each other. Group meets the first Tuesday of each month and is facilitated by trained peers. For more information, contact Anne at 510-548-8283 ext. 126 or anne@pacificcenter.org. Groups are held on Tuesdays from 2:00- 3:30 p.m. on 9/1, 10/6, 11/3 and 12/1.

FREE Dementia Care Consultations: Dori Sproul of the Alzheimer's Association, Robert Livermore Community Center- Consultation Room: Caregiving for someone with dementia? If you are stressed, overwhelmed and need support and information, schedule an appointment on the third Thursday of each month with Dory for advice, education or to develop a plan for the road ahead. Holiday Flower Arranging with Gayle and Kathy: They'll walk you through the step-by-step process of creating a beautiful holiday arrangement using flowers from the grocery store.

Virtual Walk of Historic Homes in South Livermore: Join Livermore City Historian, Richard Finn, for a VIRTUAL walking tour of historic homes in South Livermore. Learn all about the homes, characters, and historical figures who built this town.

Flower Arranging Social: A quick recap from our flower arranging social on 10.23.20 at Ravenswood Historic Site. 

Chair Yoga: Discover how to do yoga poses with a chair to help increase flexibility, balance and strength while enhancing mind-body awareness and the ability to relax. There are many benefits that regular yoga practice can bring to one's life including sound sleep, allergy and asthma relief, and reduced stress and anxiety. Chair Yoga is free and classes are available on YouTube with instructor Lakshmi Sajith. Classes are suitable for participants who do not want to get up and down from the floor.
