We are shaking up our yearly trip to Sonoma County this year to take advantage of a bakery that is only open Thursday to Monday. Day one we will travel to Bodega Bay for lunch and a look around the area where “The Birds” was filmed. We will stop to enjoy the breath-taking views from Bodega Head before heading to Occidental for the night. Day two will begin with a visit to the Wild Flour Bakery in nearby Freestone. Each day they bake 900 loaves of bread that are sold only at this bakery. They also have scones, biscotti and specialty coffees. You will have time to shop, have a coffee and scone, and take a walk through their garden. Next we head to Santa Rosa for a tour of the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens. Lunch is on your own at Willie Birds Restaurant which is known for their turkey dinners. Then we will head home with lots of memories of the ocean, redwoods, farms, gardens and fresh baked bread.
