UPDATE AS OF MONDAY, AUGUST 24: City of Livermore and Livermore Area Recreation and Park District- LARPD will open the Robert Livermore Community Center as a cooling center for those at risk when temperatures rise and due to the poor air quality, particularly seniors and residents without access to air conditioning.
Cooling Center Location: Robert Livermore Community Center (4444 East Ave.)
Days and Hours:
Monday, 8/24 12-5 p.m.
Tuesday, 8/25 12-5 p.m.
Social distancing and face covering requirements will be in place at the cooling center. Capacity will be limited in order to comply with Alameda County Health Orders.
Bottled water will be available. Masks will be provided if needed.
Please DO NOT go to the cooling center if you have a fever, if you have been exposed to or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have been ordered to quarantine or isolate. All visitors to local cooling centers will be asked screening questions and will have their temperature taken before they may enter the buildings.
The Robert Livermore Community Center remains closed to the public. If you know of a vulnerable person without air conditioning, such as an older adult or infirm neighbor, please check on them via phone or email and ensure that they are staying cool and are drinking plenty of water. If you see someone on the street who may be having a severe reaction to the heat, please call 9-1-1.
