Living Arroyos is a multi-agency partnership that includes LARPD, Zone 7 Water Agency and the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton. The goal of the program is to enhance and maintain the urban streams and stream-side habitats of the Livermore-Amador Valley. We do this by planting native trees and vegetation, removing invasive weed species and picking up trash alongside the watershed’s arroyos. By enhancing urban streams, we are improving water quality, providing habitat for people and animals and preventing flooding. Our goal is to foster community education and stewardship of local ecology and environmental issues. We host volunteer days on the first and third Saturday from October through April.
