Meet Alyssa Smith our newest Aquatics Coordinator. She began with LARPD on May 31st and came to us from the City of Brentwood at their aquatic facility where she was a pool manager and worked with lifeguards and their swim lesson program.
"The staff has been great! I've been so lucky. They've been so welcoming to me. We've doubled our staff from last year and everyone's been doing a good job and are on top of their lifeguarding skills making a safe environment for the community."
This summer, the aquatics staff has taught over 1,400 swim lessons. "The swim lessons have been really good. We've received a lot of compliments and parents have been requesting their kids to be with their same instructors."
On why she decided to join LARPD, "I was looking for an opportunity to grow and take on more of a leadership role. It was a great opportunity here and I couldn't pass it up."
If you see Alyssa out on the pool deck be sure to stop her and say hi!
