The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. Based on new guidelines from the Alameda County Public Health Department, Livermore Area and Recreation Park District has closed all District facilities, cancelled all indoor and outdoor facility rentals, and cancelled all in-person programs and classes until further notice.  Keep in mind that this is an ongoing event and dates are subject to change. If you have registered for a trip or excursion you will be contacted by the District regarding a refund for programs and services impacted by this cancellation. Community members may call our main office at 925-373-5700 or visit our COVID-19 News and Information website for the most current updates. For activities you can do at home with your family during the shelter in place order, please visit our Stay & Play Virtual Recreation Center.

Little Nalu Swim Lesson Program

Welcome to the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District's Little Nalu Swim Lesson Program. As an authorized provider for the American Red Cross, it is our goal to provide the best aquatic training and programs to promote water safety throughout our community in a safe and fun environment. We have partnered with the American Red Cross who have developed and designed a Learn-to-Swim lesson program that we call the "Little Nalu" (Little Waves) Swim Lesson Program. Each class is tailored to the needs of our program participants so they can progress at a comfortable pace with hands-on-instruction from our instructor staff. This program focuses on building skills one step at a time, giving the opportunity to master one element before moving onto the next. Once a participant passes one of our group lesson swim levels, they will receive a certificate of completion as well as a graduation button.

The Robert Livermore Aquatics swim lesson program offers both morning and evening classes. Morning classes are held Monday - Thursday; each session runs for two (2) weeks with a total of eight (8) 25-minute classes per session. The evening classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays; each session runs for two (2) weeks with a total of four (4) 25-minute classes per session.

If you're not sure which lesson to put your child in, take a look at our Swim Lesson Descriptions . If you have specific questions, please email us at aquatics@larpd.org or give us a call at 925-373-5750. We'll be happy to help answer any questions you have.
