This program is designed for beginner athletes. Participants will learn the basic skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting while working together as a team in a fun and positive environment. Low hoops and small basketballs are used. Classes held at the Robert Livermore Community Center Gymnasium. For ages three (3) to five (5).
Focusing on individual skill development, we will cover the ins and outs of ball handling, crossovers and proper shooting form. The three main passes will be covered and man-to-man defense will be explained and used in live play situations. As your child progresses in age, the classes will cover more in-depth skills. Classes held at the Robert Livermore Community Center Gymnasium. For ages five (5) to thirteen (13).
Basketball league is geared not only for the beginner but for the experienced player as well. Learn a give-and-go offense, man-to-man defense as well as spacing on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Officials will ensure the game is following the proper rules according to age/grade. Participants will be coached by knowledgeable and trained LARPD staff. Teams will practice once a week with games played on Saturdays. Practice will consist of both individual and team concepts throughout the season. Classes held at the Robert Livermore Community Center Gymnasium. For ages five (5) to eight (8).
