Join us at Ravenswood Historic Site for Applefest!
Enjoy ongoing activities throughout the day from 12 – 4 pm:
- Heirloom Apple Tasting: One of the main highlights of Applefest is the opportunity to taste heirloom apple varieties that are not commonly found in stores. This is a unique chance to experience different flavors and textures from traditional apple varieties.
- Cider Making and Tasting: Learn the art of cider making as you watch the process of turning fresh apples into delicious cider. And, of course, don't miss the chance to indulge in freshly made cider.
- “Apple Slinkie” Making: Create your own "apple slinkies" by using a special device to slice apples into fun, spiral shapes. It's a creative and tasty way to enjoy apples.
- Old-Fashioned Games: Step back in time and participate in various old-fashioned games. People of all ages can enjoy these nostalgic activities.
- Docent-Led Tours: Get acquainted with the site's rich history through docent-led tours of the historic buildings. Learn about the heritage and stories associated with Ravenswood Historic Site, which can offer an immersive and educational experience.
- Picnicking: We encourage visitors to bring their own picnic baskets and enjoy a relaxed meal amidst the serene surroundings.
Kids under age 3 are free and do not need to register.
