Craft & Sewing Camps

LARPD is offering various fun-filled, craft and sewing camps this summer at the Robert Livermore Community Center!

Under the Sea Craft Camp (age 7-10)

LARPD Staff 

Dive down deep and discover what lives under the sea – and in your imagination! Campers will construct projects pertaining to marine life through colorful illustrations, interactive projects, and more.   This summer program engages budding biologists with creative, active, and hands-on projects all while learning about our oceans and the amazing creatures and plant life that live “Under the Sea”!

Gone Camping Craft Camp (age 7-10)

Bring all the fun of camping indoors with our Gone Camping Craft Camp! Sewing Camp (age 6-11)

Spanish Academy 

“Mom, I want to learn how to sew!” Sewing is not only fun and creative, but it is a useful learning skill. Children will learn how to safely thread a needle, draw, and cut out a pattern, and sew their own pieces by hand. Sewing techniques learned in this class are running stitch, slip stitch, sewing buttons, and more. Children will make bags/sacks, holiday decorations, 3D cupcakes, etc. Bring the following: water, healthy snacks, and a light jacket.

Spanish Academy

Mandarin Camp (age 6-11)

Spanish Academy 

This class is designed for non-Chinese background students with little or no previous knowledge of Chinese. The objective of the class is to learn vocabulary, conversational phrases, reading and some relevant cultural background. The Chinese phonetic system is introduced at the beginning of the course.

Each class will be thematic-based (Greetings, Foods, Hobbies, Family, etc.), including learning the basics (numbers, colors) in a fun tactile and visual manner. The teacher will use visual aids, (posters, flashcards, art projects, books and more) and instructional objects to motivate and engage the students in learning the Mandarin language.

Arora Junior Tennis Camp (ages 7-12)

Arora Tennis and Fitness

Fun skill-building tennis drills that help campers learn the basics while building confidence. Beginning Youth Pickleball Camp (ages 10-14)

Calling all youth, come out and learn the game of Pickleball! You will learn the basics such as serving, receiving, volleying, dinking and scoring. Learn the game as well as make new friends.  Proper footwear is required, please wear tennis shoes. Bring your own paddle, there will be a limited number on hand as a loaner. Come to Summer Nature Camp and have some fun in the sun while learning about the natural world around us. Through age-appropriate programs and activities, the kids will experience the park by playing in the creek, going in search of buried treasure, and hiking Livermore’s hidden gem, Sycamore Grove Park. They will learn everything from the solar system to tadpoles in the creek.

Counselor In Training  Camp (CIT) (ages 13-16) 

Go beyond Summer Nature Camp with the Counselor in Training (CIT) program!  This 1-week program designed for young teens (age 13-16) will provide the opportunity to develop leadership skills and get a behind-the-scenes look at the recreation and outdoor industry, all while having fun and bonding with their peers. 

CITs will gain valuable, hands-on leadership experience as they shadow counselors, mentor younger campers, and craft and lead their own camp activities. 

Participation in the CIT program will prepare young teens for volunteering at camp and give them a strong foundation of skills needed to become a camp counselor.  After completing the camp, CITs have the opportunity to volunteer for Summer Nature Camp.
