• It gives information about appointing an agent, end-of-life decision-making, and the POLST form.
•  Provides referrals for other planning tools such as wills and Durable Power of Attorney.

• Explains options for supplementing Medicare and getting help with medical costs.

Protecting Your Equity

LARPD Senior Services has partnered with Legal Assistance for Seniors for a FREE monthly series of workshops on various topics designed to educate seniors on issues that impact their lives. 

This month, we will discuss protecting your equity. 

• This workshop defines common terms related to home ownership and provides an overview of risks that could jeopardize ownership or equity.
   
• Discusses common financial issues related to homeownership and aging. It also explains the basic structure of reverse mortgages and other types of equity-based loans and examines alternative options.

NEW! Gillig Bus Manufacturing Tour

Meet at the Gillig Bus Manufacturing headquarters for a FREE insider tour of the 600,000-square-foot plant in Livermore.

On your one-hour guided tour, you'll walk and pause for narration as you loop through the enormous manufacturing plant, viewing each assembly station as you go.

From initial design through final assembly, each heavy-duty transit bus is designed and built in America, recycling tax dollars back into the Livermore community to further support public transportation.

This is a secure facility with the following requirements:

• Participants must pre-qualify in the Gillig system to receive an invite to be badged for your visit
• Watch the safety video, wear the provided safety glasses, and wear closed-toe shoes. 

Necessary information will be emailed to all participants before the event date.

Writing Memoir and Personal Essay

Only you can tell your stories; writing a memoir is a fun way to preserve them. This class includes lectures and writing exercises. You will write short pieces and share each other's work in class—homework is optional.

Downtown Pleasanton GHOST Walk

Meet the GHOSTS of Pleasanton's past... 

Discover Pleasanton's mysterious and chilling side as you visit its haunted places. A "GHOST HOST" will lead you along Main Street and tell you the spooky stories and histories of buildings like the Pleasanton Hotel, Gay 90s Pizza, and the old Mortuary. Witness the Ghost Host's tracking tools to check for spirit energy as you go along!

Trevarno Road History Walk 

Take a nostalgic walk along this shady lane reminiscent of an earlier era, complete with old-fashioned streetlamps.

Learn from Heritage Guild docent and resident Susan Canfield about the local history of the Craftsman-style bungalows nestled on generous, grassy lots.

Conclude your walking tour with an outdoor visit to the LARPD Youth Services Office for refreshments.

Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Livermore 

Join Heritage Guild's Susan Canfield on an informative walk through historic downtown Livermore. On your one-mile tour, learn about the history of the homes and buildings. Conclude with a no-host lunch downtown. Rain or shine.

Pleasanton Historical Neighborhood Walk 

Join Museum Director of Education Rachel Brickell on this sidewalk tour. You will behold the lovely historic homes along Second and Neal Streets. Learn the history of the families that occupied them, their contributions, and their everyday lives as they helped build the town of Pleasanton.

Enjoy the holiday season by attending our annual catered luncheon at the Robert Livermore Community Center in the Cresta Blanca Ballroom! Surround yourself with good friends, food catered by On the Vine, and holiday fun.

Holiday Shopping and Lunch in Downtown Livermore

We will meet at Lizzie Fountain in Downtown Livermore and mosey together down First Street to Bruno's Italian Cuisine for a delicious "no-host" group lunch. We can share gift ideas for those hard-to-shop-for folks on your holiday lists. 

After lunch,  we'll break out for some festive holiday shopping and meet up afterward to wrap up our day with dessert provided by LARPD! 

Holiday Lights Trolley Tour  

Start your evening with hot cocoa and dessert in the Palo Verde Room at the Robert Livermore Community Center, then "all aboard" the Trolley for an adventure through the festive neighborhoods of Livermore to experience the glow of holiday lights. 

• The tour includes stops to disembark the trolley for walking tours in limited locations.
• The trolley does NOT include wine tasting for this event.

Mystery Movie and Review at the Vine
