Lucy Recognized as 2026 Livermore Ambassadog

Livermore, CA, June 2026 – Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) and Valley Humane Society are proud to announce Lucy as the 2026 Livermore Ambassadog.
Lucy, a 9-year-old Australian Labradoodle, is known for her friendly personality, warm smile, and love of meeting new people. As Livermore's third Ambassadog, she will represent the community at events throughout the year while helping promote the positive impact pets have on our lives.

Alongside her owners, Denelle and Eric Alexander, Lucy volunteers through Valley Humane's Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy Program, visiting local schools and assisted living communities to provide comfort and companionship.
When she's not volunteering, Lucy enjoys exploring Livermore's parks and trails, including Sycamore Grove, Independence, Robertson, and Mocho parks, and spending time in Downtown
Livermore.
"We're proud to continue this partnership with Valley Humane Society and celebrate the animals that help make Livermore such a welcoming community," said LARPD Board Chair Philip Pierpont. "Lucy has already brought comfort and smiles to so many people through her volunteer work, and we're excited to have her representing Livermore as our 2026 Ambassadog."
Lucy was officially recognized as the 2026 Livermore Ambassadog at the June 10, 2026 LARPD Board of Directors meeting. She follows in the pawprints of previous Ambassadogs Boomer Bowers (2024) and Oreo Budil (2025) in serving as Livermore's canine ambassador.
The Livermore Ambassadog program is a partnership between LARPD and Valley Humane Society that celebrates the special bond between people and their pets while promoting a pet-friendly community.
