Counselor In Training Camp at Sycamore Grove Park

Go beyond summer nature camp with the Counselor in Training program!  This 1-week program, designed for young teens, will provide CITs with opportunities to develop leadership skills and get a behind-the-scenes look at the recreation and outdoor industry, all while having fun and bonding with their peers. 

CITs will gain valuable, hands-on leadership experience as they shadow counselors, mentor younger campers, and craft and lead their own camp activities.  Participation in the CIT program will prepare young teens for volunteering at camp and give them a strong foundation of skills needed to become a camp counselor.  

After completing the camp, CITs may volunteer for Summer Nature Camp. * 

*Participants will receive an email (on or before June 1st) from natureprograms@larpd.org to set up a Better Impact LARPD volunteer account. After the account is set up, participants can schedule dates to volunteer at the 2026 Summer Nature Camp and will be invited to the SNC Volunteer Orientation on Friday, June 5th.
