Hello and welcome to Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD). I hope those of you who have been long time users of our programs, parks and open spaces will notice the great amount of work that has been completed over the last year and will be completed in the next few months. We have had major trail improvements at Sycamore Grove Park that many visitors are beginning to enjoy. Camp Shelly up in the Tahoe basin is getting a brand new restroom with ADA upgrades. The Robert Livermore Community Center (RLCC) Pools are getting a face-lift with new surfacing and equipment and the four Parks Project will be upgrading Big Trees Park, May Nissen Park, Pleasure Island and Jane Adams Preschool at Max Baer Park. I know that is a lot, but there is more. The RLCC will be undergoing an Energy Efficiency Project that will reduce energy consumption and produce energy through solar panels. Robertson Park is going to see additional synthetic turf added for spectators and participants. You may see ribbon cutting events for all of these projects as well as other projects that are in the planning phase such as Bothwell Art Center, Sunset Park and The Barn. All of this and a general increase in shade structures throughout the parks. Please support our efforts and enjoy your tax dollars at work.
