LARPD Collects Nearly 8,000 Diapers 

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) collected nearly 8,000 diapers during its 2026 Diaper Drive, thanks to community members who came together to support local children and families through Hively, a Tri-Valley nonprofit organization.

The annual drive included collection sites at the Robert Livermore Community Center, LARPD Youth Services Offices, and LARPD Extended Student Services (ESS) sites at local Livermore schools. Community members were invited to donate diapers to help local families experiencing the financial burden of purchasing diapers.

“This diaper drive is a great example of families supporting families,” said Rachel Shelnut, Recreation Field Supervisor. “Our community came together to provide diapers, and Hively will help make sure those donations reach families who need them.”

Hively provides programs and services that strengthen children and families and improve access to resources throughout the Tri-Valley. The donated diapers will support Hively’s efforts to provide essential supplies to families in the community.

LARPD thanks everyone who participated in the 2026 Diaper Drive and helped make the collection a success.
