Regional Center of the East Bay

The Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is a non-profit organization that coordinates lifelong services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes funding for social recreation opportunities for residents of Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Learn more about RCEB.

LARPD's Adaptive Recreation program offers select courses to be funded through an established, traditional vendor agreement with RCEB. The vendor agreement states that out of the total capacity of a course, 70% of the spots may be funded via RCEB. The remaining 30% of the spots must remain open to individuals that have a developmental or intellectual disability but are not a client of RCEB.

How do I sign-up for a RCEB funded course?

Participants may register for a course that is funded by RCEB via LARPD's online booking platform. Courses will include “RCEB” in the title to indicate that is eligible to be funded through the Regional Center.

For example: "Adaptive Rec: RCEB Friends in the Kitchen (Ages 11-17)". This registration option has a $0 associated fee and includes requirements regarding obtaining a Purchase of Service (POS) from the participant’s case manager.

Participants are solely responsible for requesting a POS from their case manager and will not be eligible to participate without one.

How do I request a POS (Purchase of Service)?

Participants can request a POS by emailing their case manager. The request should include the course ID, course name, course dates, cost of the course, and our vendor number. The course description will include which vendor code to use.

Youth and Teen Classes (Friends in the Kitchen, Sensory Socials, Social Stars), the vendor code is PB5462

Adults (Friends in the Kitchen), the vendor code is HB1713

Can I participate without a POS?

No. A valid POS reflecting the accurate course dates and price must be issued and received by LARPD prior to participation.

Participants are solely responsible for requesting POS from their case manager and will not be eligible to participate without one.

What if I can no longer attend, but already have a POS?

LARPD only bills RCEB for a course if the participant attended. If you need to withdrawal from a course, please do so at least two weeks before the course start date so the RCEB funded spot can be offered to a waitlisted participant.

No Show Policy

Issuing a POS but failing to show up for a registered course is considered a no-show. Not showing up to a RCEB funded course will result in your account being flagged.  A flagged account will inhibit registration for future RCEB funded courses.
