Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) announces the installation of a new video scoreboard at the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center.

The new scoreboard introduces several features, such as customizable background templates and video capabilities, offering enhanced flexibility for the many large-scale swim meets and water polo tournaments throughout the year.

Aquatics Supervisor Patrick Lucky shared, “Updating to a newer board has given the aquatics team access to many features that were not available before. We can completely customize the board.”

A key feature of the new scoreboard is its scheduling system, which allows the automatic activation and loading of templates for scheduled events for swim meets. This functionality lays the groundwork for future enhancements, enabling the display of aquatic updates, programs, and other information relevant to the community.

With over 32,000 visitors to the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center last year, these upgrades aim to improve the overall experience at the facility. The modernized scoreboard elevates the spectator experience and solidifies LARPD's position as a regional leader for aquatic events. “We are excited about the added features and improved functionality.

The new scoreboard highlights LARPD’s commitment to providing high-quality experiences for Livermore's swimming and water polo community," added Jill Kirk, Community Services Manager with LARPD.

The scoreboard debuted at the Pacific Swimming Association meet held on December 9-10, 2023.
