This high-energy combo class introduces young dancers to the exciting styles of jazz and tap while building a strong foundation in dance technique. Dancers will develop jazz fundamentals, including proper posture, body placement, leaps, turns, and jazz walks, through upbeat combinations and age-appropriate choreography. In tap, dancers will explore rhythm patterns, shuffles, flaps, and simple time steps while learning to listen to music, count beats, and create rhythms with their feet. This fun, engaging class builds coordination, flexibility, musicality, and confidence while helping young dancers grow their skills and love for dance!   

• Students participating in the April 27th – June 15th session are eligible to perform in the annual recital.  Additional costume and recital fees will apply to those who want to participate.

Dancers will develop their jazz technique through clean lines, turns, leaps, kicks, and stylized movement, with a focus on body control, flexibility, and performance quality. Upbeat combinations set to current pop music will help dancers build confidence and express their individual style. In tap, students will refine their footwork, develop crisp sounds, and explore more challenging rhythms, time steps, and syncopation while strengthening their musicality and timing. This class is perfect for young dancers looking to improve their technique, grow as performers, and enjoy the best of both jazz and tap!
