Current Volunteer Opportunities

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is actively seeking volunteers to assist with our programs, services, and community special events. 

Listed below are some of our highlighted opportunities.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
NEW! Adaptive Recreation: Ice Cream Social (7/18) 

Volunteer for LARPD's first ever FREE specialized event for people with developmental/intellectual disabilities. Ice cream and sweet treats will be provided, as well as fun games, activities, and crafts.

Volunteers would help serve and scoop ice cream.

Volunteer Age: 18+

Location: Robert Livermore Community Center, Cresta Blanca room

Day/Time: Thurs 7/18, 4-7pm

NEW! Eras Tour Dance Party (7/20) 

Volunteer for an enchanted night of music and dancing filled with Taylor Swift-themed crafts, games, and treats. We need volunteers to to help set up, help at stations, and help clean up.

Location: Robert Livermore Community Center

NEW! 2024 Ravenswood Ice Cream Social Event (8/11) 

LARPD and the Ravenswood Progress League are hosting the annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social at the Ravenswood Historic Site on Sunday, August 11th. 

Guests will enjoy music from Amos Productions, History Mobile, and Docent Tours.  Ice Cream, Hot Dogs, Cookies and Lunch Plates for purchase. 

We are looking for several volunteers who will have a variety of tasks including taking pictures, greeting people and passing out Ravenswood info.. Shift is from 11:30am to 3pm.

NEW! Applefest at Ravenswood (8/25) 

Join us at the Ravenswood Historic Site to explore the heirloom apple orchard and taste unique apple varieties you can’t find in stores! Ongoing activities from 12 – 4 pm.

We are looking for volunteers to help with this event from 11:45am to 4pm:

Sycamore Grove: Open Space Volunteer Days - Ongoing

SIGN UP LINK COMING SOON! 

Join the LARPD Rangers for a volunteer work day in the park every third Saturday of the month. From removing invasive plants to litter pick-ups to trail maintenance, volunteers will help maintain Sycamore Grove Park as a beautiful and healthy place for visitors and wildlife.
Participants will hike out into the park, possibly going off trail.

Please dress for being outdoors; sun protection and layers are recommended. Bring water as well! If you have gloves, please bring them. Otherwise, we have some spares we can provide.

Ages 14 and older.  Individuals and groups are welcome 

May contain: clothing, shorts, glove, art, collage, plant, vegetation, person, footwear, shoe, hat, t-shirt, soil, adventure, hiking, leisure activities, nature, outdoors, accessories, and glasses

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Native Gardens at Sycamore Grove Park!  Our gardens highlight plants native to our area and their incredible ecological and cultural connections.  We are always happy to have volunteers help out around the garden, regardless of their experience with gardening and/or native plants.  Tasks change seasonally and include:

  • Weeding
  • Leaf Removal
  • Mulching
  • Planting
  • Seed Collecting
  • Pruning

We will provide volunteers with tools and gloves to work in the garden, but volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own tools and gloves.
