The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District operates two (2) aquatic facilities, the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center and the May Nissen Swim Center. The Robert Livermore Aquatics Center spans 45,000 square-feet with a 25-yard-by-33-meter pool available for lap and recreational swimming, lessons, water polo and exercise classes. The Center’s zero-depth-entry activity pool has an interactive play structure with waterfalls and water cannons. The pool also includes a 22-foot-long spiral water slide. The May Nissen Swim Center has been in operation by the District since 1962 and today, features an eight-lane lap pool measuring 25-meters long by 20-yards wide. There is an additional wading pool within the facility which is perfect for little ones. We strive to offer a wide variety of aquatic programs; register online to find the perfect class for you.
After years of development and planning, the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District has scheduled some much needed improvements at the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center. Plans include a deck replacement, replastering and new tile for the pools, and the addition of permanent stairs and ADA lifts. Beginning October 22, 2018, the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center will be closed with an anticipated reopening date of Summer 2019. During the construction closure, all aquatics programming will be relocated to the May Nissen Swim Center. For more information, please contact the Aquatics Office at (925) 373-5750.
We strive to ensure a safe and fun aquatic environment for our community, part of this involves your cooperation. Guests will be expected to follow all posted rules and oral instructions from the aquatic staff at all times; failure to comply will result in being asked to leave the facility without a refund.
