LARPD Aquatics Programs and Facilities

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District operates two (2) aquatic facilities, the Robert Livermore Aquatics Center and the May Nissen Swim Center.

Robert Livermore Aquatics Center

The Robert Livermore Aquatics Center spans 45,000 square feet with a 25-yard-by-33-meter pool available for lap and recreational swimming, lessons, water polo, and exercise classes. The Center’s zero-depth-entry activity pool has an interactive play structure with waterfalls and water cannons. The pool also includes a 22-foot-long spiral water slide. This year-round facility offers various programs and classes designed for all ages.

May Nissen Swim Center

The District has operated the May Nissen Swim Center since 1962. This facility features an eight-lane lap pool measuring 25 meters long by 20 yards wide. An additional wading pool within the facility is perfect for little ones. 

Rental Information 

All rental lanes are currently booked. If you're interested in renting lanes in the future for your organization, please email us at the button below.

The Robert Livermore Aquatics Center is available to rent for organization programs and classes. Applicants will be required to rent a minimum of three (3) lanes per hour, unless the rental is the only activity operating within the facility at that time which would require the applicant to rent the entire facility. Rental times will be calculated in full hours. Aquatic rentals will include a minimum of two (2) District lifeguards, unless District staff determine additional staff is needed which will be at the expense of the applicant, for the duration of the rental. To ensure the health and safety of our community, applicants and their program participants will be required to follow the current Alameda County Public Health Department's Health Order while utilizing our facility. Applicants will be required to submit a Site Safety Plan forty-five (45) days prior to the rental date which will be reviewed and approved by District staff.
