Sycamore Grove Park

A breathtaking experience, explore the beauty of south Livermore by hiking, biking, walking, or jogging through this 847-acre open space park. Open seven (7) days a week from 7:00 a.m. to sunset daily. There is a $5 daily parking fee if you choose to park in the parking lot, or for frequent park visitors, we encourage you to purchase an annual parking pass. For more information, you can contact our Ranger Office. There is a network of trails through Sycamore Grove Park; these trails accommodate many types of travelers and explorers. Sycamore Grove Photography Permit

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District requires commercial photographers to have a permit when taking photographs within Sycamore Grove Park. Applications are accepted on a first-come-first-serve bases Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is a minimum of 48 hours processing for all application request; excluding weekends. Applicants are required to pay a $50 fee along with submitting the application for processing. Permits include two parking passes and access to Sycamore Grove Park on the reserved date from 7:00 a.m. to sunset (unless otherwise noted on the permit). Weekend Nature Programs

Join a Ranger to explore and experience the wild! Get all the details about these programs by contacting the Ranger Office at (925) 960-2400, by viewing the Open Space Calendar, or by signing up for our Valley Wilds newsletter by emailing  Most of these weekend programs are FREE to all participants, though some may have a small fee to cover program supply costs which may be paid to the Ranger at the program. Exact change is appreciated. Due to the current health situation, pre-registration is required to limit the number of participants to allow for social distancing.  Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Daily parking fee may apply.

Parking at Sycamore Grove Park

Daily Parking Fee

There is a $5 per vehicle daily fee for parking, payable at machines near the park kiosks. The machines accept VISA and Mastercard as well as $1 and $5 bills and coins (except pennies). The machines do not make change. It will print out a pass that must be displayed on the dashboard of your vehicle with the date visible. Please note there is an annual parking pass available that will provide significant savings over the daily fee for regular park visitors. Horse trailers may park at Sycamore Grove Park at the Wetmore Road entrance only and require a parking permit with a daily fee of $5.

Sycamore Grove Annual Parking Pass - 2023 Parking Passes On Sale December 1, 2022!

Annual Passes allow frequent park visitors to save money and time. If you are a Livermore resident and come once a month or more, it will be worth your while. Out-of-district residents who visit the park twice a month or more will also save money. Seniors (Age 60+) receive a substantial discount. Annual Passes are hang-tags that you can use in multiple vehicles. Passes are prorated for blocks of months, so you get the same great value regardless of when you purchase your pass.

Annual Passes must be visible on the dash or rear-view mirror. Annual passes can be purchased from the rangers in the park or by calling the Robert Livermore Community Center at (925)373-5700

Parking Passes are valid from the date of purchase through December 31 of the year purchased. Passes can be purchased from a ranger in the park, by mail, or at the Robert Livermore Community Center.
