Livermore, CA - The City of Livermore, Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD), and Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) announce Community Service Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024. This collaborative effort aims to engage the community in volunteerism to enhance and beautify Livermore.

Community Service Day allows residents to participate in various projects spanning over 30 volunteer sites throughout the city, including park clean-ups, fence painting, tree planting, and beautification efforts. There are opportunities for everyone to contribute, regardless of skill level.

"We are thrilled to once again join forces with LARPD and LVJUSD for Community Service Day," said City of Livermore City Manager, Marianna Marysheva. "This event not only strengthens our community bonds but also fosters a sense of pride and ownership in our city."

The day will culminate in a celebratory festival event at Las Positas College, where volunteers and donors will be treated to a Volunteer Opportunities Fair, complimentary lunch, and live entertainment by local band Crawdad Republic. The festival will also include activities for kids, card-making for seniors, and donation drives supporting local nonprofits.

“Our schools, parks, and shared city spaces all benefit from the work done on Community Service Day,” said Chris VanSchaack, Superintendent of LVJUSD. “We invite individuals, families, and community organizations to join us in this rewarding community day of service.”
